Kirsi Mattila

Scriptwriter, Director, Producer

Kirsi Mattila has a degree in theatre research from the University of Helsinki. Originally a scriptwriter and director, Kirsi has branched out into producing as a member of Icebreaker Productions.

Her latest feature, Marzia, My Friend (produced by Pohjola-filmi Oy), set in Afghanistan and Finland, has won several prizes in international film festivals.

Kirsi has created videos for several organizations, serving not only as writer, director and producer but also as cinematographer and editor as well. She has also produced radio series and TV shows for the Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle.

Today Kirsi focuses on producing documentary films. She has previously produced Tiina Madisson’s film Brides of Nepal.

Kirsi is a board member of Icebreakers.
